Mission Possible: Create a short film in 48 hours. This mission, should you choose to accept it, requires excellent team-work to create a compelling narrative, music video, doc or animated film to screen as the 1st showcase of the Sacramento Film Festival (SFF) in 2024, "A DIGITAL ODYSSEY".

NOTE: per California state guidelines, the COVID emergency has been lifted. All film team members assume their own personal responsibility and accept any risk of contracting COVID-19.

ADVANCE WORK: Advance prep work is encouraged: Gathering Crew, Casting, screenwriting, etc.

TEAM LEADERS: Each team will have one “Team leader”. The leader is solely legally responsible for the film which must be submitted by 10pm, 7/28/24. This form MUST be completed by all participants on or before 7/26/23 (Virtual Launch Date). Each Team Leader must be at the launch event.

1) ANY exhibition or distribution of your film by any means (physical, internet or other) prior to world premiere will result in disqualification. SHOW IT TO NO ONE. This includes cast/crew screenings.

2) Finished films may not exceed 6 minutes in total duration including ALL credits. Credits themselves must not take up more than 30 seconds of the film. <NO ACCEPTIONS>.

Films must be delivered as a downloadable link via email only to Martin@SacramentoFilmFestival.com by 10pm Sunday July 27th. All emails should be clearly labeled with TITLE of Film, email, name and phone of Team leader.

A) File may be delivered as MPEG4 via non-protected download link. Be Sure SFF has any necessary passwords and be certain that download capability is enabled.. Please note: DO NOT ALLOW ANY EXHIBITION OF YOUR FILM to anyone else. VIOLATORS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. SFF requires your movie to be a 1080p Mpeg file. 16X9 aspect ratio. 2 channel stereo audio.

3. The team leader must complete and submit this application at the Launch event certifying adherence to all rules outlined here.

4. By completing this agreement, all team members (cast/crew/participants) certify that they have given CFF/SFF legal right to use their image/labor or resources for the purposes outlined herein. All production is soley directed by the team leader (NOT SFF/CFF) and all liability/responsibility for their 48 Hour production is the team leader's alone. Further, Team leaders agree they have acquired any and all necessary liability insurance, plus any and all talent, crew, music or location releases and/or film permits necessary to compete in 48 Hours Sacramento. By filling out this form each participant further stipulates that NO federal, state or local laws were violated. All liability for failure to secure releases, permits or comply with any state, federal or local law or guideline rests with the film team leader and/or individual film participant. By filling out this form, the participant agrees to hold SFF/CFF harmless for any liability or failure to comply with any of these guidelines.

5. Sac Film Fest and/or California Film Foundation (CFF) organizers reserve the right to refuse any film. Films that we suspect may have violated guidelines in rule 4 above or that can be considered pornographic, depicting graphic sex and/or violence or could be considered rated R or worse will be disqualified.

6. All Films must include the following credit: "This film made as part of 48 Hours California and the Sacramento International Film Festival ©2024."

7. Films are copyright co-owned by the filmmaker and SFF/CFF, and may be forever usable by the Sacramento International Film Festival, CFF, and its designees either all or in part for any activities including marketing, sales, and exhibition.

8. SFF makes this project available to anyone FREE of submission fees as a community service. The festival can and WILL disqualify any project that fails to meet these terms or that we deem does not rise to a quality fitting for distribution. The Sacramento Film Festival and 48 Hours Sacramento organizers may add to or amend these rules at any time. By filling out this form, ALL participants and team leaders agree that SFF may share their contact info with all participating team leaders. Participants under 18 WILL be represented by a parent or legal guardian, who will complete this agreement.
