REACH SUMMER VOLUNTEER 2022
IOR and other non-profit organizations have joined forces to support students who have come as refugees during the summer months. We want to give school age children an opportunity to gather, learn, play and have fun together, twice a week during the summer months. We will have various speakers, counselors, the local library, go on field trips, and many other fun and educational opportunities. This program is free of cost for students and safe for students (supervised and following Covid protocols, etc.).

How to help:
We need volunteers to help staff the program by participating in activities, helping supervise students, setting up and running activities, cleaning up, preparing snacks and just being an encouraging person in the student's lives.

In an effort to make the Summer program sustainable, we hope that our volunteers can make it most Tuesdays and Thursdays for the program. We will have a sign up sheet for you to let us know when you are not available. Will you be able to commit to most weeks this summer? Mark only one circle. *
Waiver and Release
Your acceptance of a volunteer assignment must carry with it your understanding that the assignment is offered pending final clearances and may be terminated at any time with or without cause, or changed at any time by REACH. By accepting a volunteer assignment, you also agree to the following:

Waiver and Release: I understand and acknowledge that this Release discharges and holds harmless REACH and all the affiliated agencies, its employees, agents, sponsors, donors, volunteers, Board members and its successors and assigns from any liability or claim that I may have against REACH and the affiliated agencies bought by me or by any party on my behalf with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the service I provide to REACH Summer Program or occurring while I am providing volunteer services.

Assumption of Risk: I understand that the services I provide to REACH Summer Program may include activities that may be hazardous to me. As a volunteer, I hereby expressly assume the risk of injury or harm from my activities with REACH Summer Program and release REACH summer program from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the services I provide as a volunteer or occurring while I am providing volunteer services. I acknowledge that REACH Summer Program asks all volunteers to use universal health precautions when interacting with refugees.

Insurance: Further I understand that REACH Summer Program does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide me with financial or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability benefits or insurance of any nature in the event of my injury, illness, death, or damage to my property. I expressly waive any such claim for compensation or liability on the part of REACH Summer Program beyond what may be offered freely by REACH Summer Program in the event of such injury or medical expenses incurred by me.

Confidentiality: I agree to hold in confidence identifying information regarding refugees such as names, places of residence, government issued ID numbers, photos, personal information, etc. Identifying information may only be released with the consent of refugees.

Permission to Use Photograph: I grant REACH Summer Program the right to take pictures of me and my property in connection with my volunteer work with REACH. I agree that REACH may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.

Hands Free Driving: I agree to drive with hands on the wheel anytime that I am involved with a REACH student. To use a cell phone while driving, I will only do so with a hands-free device.

Other: I understand and agree that REACH summer program is relying on my promise to volunteer as scheduled. I agree to contact the appropriate REACH staff member if conflicts arise in which I cannot fulfill my volunteer obligations.
