WORKSHOP: Edible Ecologies by Forgotten Greens

You are warmly invited to join the Edible Ecologies by Forgotten Greens, a guided workshop exploring the edible landscape. Participants will learn to identify wild greens while discovering the hidden flavours and healing properties found in the natural environment. The experience continues with a hands-on foraging, where freshly gathered plants are transformed into nourishing, healing preparations. Forgotten Greens, launched in 2018, began as an expression of the joy of discovering wild edible plants in everyday surroundings. What began as a Facebook page sharing information has since evolved into a dynamic project with over 20,000 Instagram followers and multiple initiatives to revive traditional knowledge around wild edible greens in mainland India. The initiative conducts ethnographic research with diverse communities to document their ecological knowledge and hosts unique workshops and experiential walks. These offerings focus on themes such as wild food in India, rewilding for beginners, backyard herbalism reaching a wide range of participants from students to urban nature enthusiasts, permaculturists, terrace gardeners, food systems researchers and practitioners.

Date: 22nd January 2025
