WAM Cosponsorship Application (2021-2022)
A few times each year, the Weisman Art Museum opens its doors to cosponsorships with University of Minnesota departments* and outside organizations, offering the museum as a venue for mission-aligned programs. We look to support activities that, like WAM, spark discovery, critical thinking, and transformation, connecting diverse audiences to meaningful experiences.

As part of the cosponsorship program, WAM will provide:
+ A waived rental fee for UMN departments and groups; or a steeply discounted rate for non-UMN community groups.
+ Marketing for the event through our website, digital and print newsletters, and social media. (Please note that, while we will spread the word to our audiences about the event, WAM is not responsible for filling your event.)
+ Access to limited technology equipment and knowledgable events staff.

In return, we expect the following out of the incoming department/group:
+ Be responsible for staffing expenses and additional services such as catering.
+ If accepted, provide event copy that we can use in our promotional materials.
+ If there are additional tech. needs outside of our capabilities, you will need to provide your own tech. person.
+ Communicate your floor plan and any additional elements (food and beverage services, merchandise sales, etc.) to our events coordinator.
+ If approved, acknowledge WAM in promotional materials and submit feedback two weeks after the conclusion of the program in order to be considered for future cosponsorships.
+ Adhere to our museum rental policies and procedures, which can be found at z.umn.edu/WAMRentalRules

Our criteria for events is the following:
+ Must be free and open to the public. We encourage a variety of event formats including performances, readings, workshops, or lunchtime lecture.
+ Must be educational in nature and align with WAM's mission.
+ Proposed events may NOT be a fundraiser.
+ Your requested date must be approved by WAM staff; If we aren't able to accommodate your requested date, we will work with you to confirm a date within a couple weeks of your requested time. (Note that we don't hold cosponsored events on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday evenings.)

Please submit your application at least eight weeks in advance of your proposed event date.

* We understand that a cosponsorship is not right for every department or organization. That's why WAM offers reduced rental rates for UMN organizations.
