Volunteer for the 2019 RFM Perfect Peach Pie & Cobbler Contest
The contest will take place at the Riverview Farmers Market:
498 Palisade Avenue
Jersey City, NJ 07307
Between 10AM & 3PM on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

We are seeking volunteers to help us out with set-up, run of show and clean up at the end of the contest. We specifically need support in equipment set up (tables/tents), handling of food (cutting up pies for sampling), crowd management and clean up at the end (trash removal, breakdown of equipment, storage & washing of utensils).

Quick run down of the day: we start setting up the contest at 9AM that Sunday. Contestants start bringing their pies at 10AM, and we register them and get them set up for display. At 11:30 AM, we stop accepting pies, and start prepping the pies for Judging. Our four neighborhood judges (already selected) will proceed with tasting each pie and rating them for scoring. Once the tasting of the pies is over, we cut them up and parcel them out onto sample plates. At the end of the judging, 3 winners are announced, and then we line up the crowd & hand out free samples of all submitted pies. After that, we enter breakdown/cleanup mode, from ~2PM-3PM.

Our market is a popular neighborhood destination and our Peach Pie Contest is one of the best attended market Sundays of the year. You'll get to meet other like-minded folk from the neighborhood who are also working the contest that day, and give back to a thriving community. We welcome volunteers of all ability levels - there's something for everyone to do. We hope you'll join us!
