About the Day:
The LISFA Chamber Music Festival is led by the clinicians of the Cali Chamber Players (formerly the Bryant Park String Quintet). The day consists of a large group workshop, as well as two individual ensemble coaching sessions. The festival culminates in a chamber music concert open to the public, in which all ensembles perform their selections, concluding with a performance by the Cali Chamber Players. Teachers play an active role in the success of the festival and are expected to attend and participate alongside their students.

Nomination Criteria:
1. String ensembles consist of students currently in grades 7-12 playing violin, viola, cello, or bass. The group may also include guitar, piano, or harp, in addition to the bowed string instruments.
2. Musical selection must be Level III-VI from the current NYSSMA Manual or a non-NYSSMA manual piece at a comparable level.
3. While one-on-a-part is preferable, doubling of parts is allowed. More than two on a part is not permitted. Ensemble must range between a minimum of two and maximum of ten students.
4. Music selection should be less than 8 minutes in length.
5. Teachers may nominate multiple groups. A separate application form must be submitted for each ensemble.
6. To be considered for selection, each application must be accompanied by an emailed link to an MP3 or video of the group performing an excerpt from the piece listed below. You may also send a CD. DO NOT send a flash drive. Recording should be approximately two minutes in length.
7. Students must be available to attend the festival if accepted. Please inform chamber music students of the exact date of the festival prior to submitting the application.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Complete the application form below and email a link to the accompanying recording by Friday, February 10th. If you are sending a physical recording, it must be postmarked on or before February 10th. Teachers of selected ensembles will be notified via e-mail by Thursday, February 16th.
