2019 Foundation for Amateur Radio Scholarship Application
To qualify for any of the scholarships managed by the Foundation, you must hold a current amateur radio licensed issued by the FCC or by an equivalent organization in a foreign country.

This application is due by April 30, 2019. You may edit the form up until May 7. We realize that some schools do not announce acceptances until May 1, so we are giving you time to update your application in order to enter that information. If you need an extension, please send request with explanation to farscholarships@gmail.com .
Instructions for the Application Form
There are several questions that ask for essay answers. To make it as easy as possible for you to complete the form in one sitting, we suggest that you complete the essay questions ahead of time in a text editor, then copy and paste your answers into the form.

When you click on 'Submit' to send the application, you will find a link that allows you to go back and edit the form later.

Here is a list of the essay questions that you will need to answer:

• Motivation to become a ham and interests in the hobby
• Ham radio activities and accomplishments
• Ham radio contacts and operating modes
• Interests and hobbies outside of ham radio
• Ham radio club memberships
• Ham radio club participation (offices held, appointed positions)
• Any special considerations that affect your application and that you would like us to take into consideration
• Enrollment status detail, if you are not a full-time student
• High school academic honors
• College academic honors

If you cannot use our on-line application, please contact me directly (dave.prestel@gmail.com) and provide an explanation of the issue(s). If necessary, I can provide an alternate form of the application to you.

Ultimately, it is our goal to have all applicants use this on-line form. Hence, it is important for us to understand your issues with the use of the form and any problems that you might have encountered when using it.

Your application form data goes directly into an encrypted, password protected PDF file that is available only to the review committee. Your raw input data is not stored on-line.

If you would like to have a copy of the completed application, please send the request to farscholarships@gmail.com. You will receive an encrypted, password protected PDF copy by return email. The password will be sent in a latter transmission.
