Thank you for your interest in donating/leasing your horse to Forward Stride. Before you begin filling out the form, it is important to understand that we serve clients with and without disabilities. Our horses may spend one lesson walking around the arena on a lead line, and the next lesson cantering and jumping. While the job of a therapy horse is an important and meaningful one, it is also a very demanding position that requires a high level of soundness, patience, and versatility.
The ideal therapy horse plays a valuable role in promoting the acquisition of life skills through horsemanship. Some clients have spoken their first words and taken their first steps with the help of their therapy horse.
