SafeTALK is a 3-hour certification process where you will learn how to recognize the signs of someone who is depressed, has thoughts of suicide or is one step away from suicide. You, the safeTALK-trained suicide alert helper, will be taught what to say, ask, and do in a situation where you recognize the signs.

As a SafeTALK-trained suicide alert helper, your job will be to bridge the gap between the person and suicide first aid resources. Through this training, you become more comfortable speaking about suicide and are more prepared when a situation arises.

Sessions will be held on the UW Seattle campus and are open to any students who attend UW Seattle, Tacoma or Bothell.

If you must cancel your SafeTALK reservation, please email hspa@uw.edu with at least a 24-hour notice before the event. Thank you! :)
