Green Muslims Summer 2019 - Interfaith Learning and Activism: Exploring Why Nature Matters to Us
Green Muslims' Summer 2019 interfaith outdoor education program will be begin on Sunday, June 23rd and continue every Sunday through July 28th. Locations will include Whitehall Farm in Clifton, Virginia, Hard Bargain Farm in Accokeek, Maryland, Theodore Roosevelt Island, and Hemlock Overlook Regional Park in Clifton, Virginia. Sessions will start promptly at 1:30pm and last from 3-4 hours. A detailed schedule and more information are available at Youth ages 8 to 13 of all faith traditions are eligible to participate.

Students will participate in interactive sessions that explore the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, how it works, how we impact it, and what we can do to protect it. This program is part of Green Muslims "Our Deen (Faith) is Green" project and is made possible by grants from Chesapeake Bay Trust and Islamic Relief USA and partnerships with the Alice Ferguson Foundation, Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions, Interfaith Power and Light-MD/DC/VA, the Sanctuaries, the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, and Whitehall Farms.

Participation is limited to 15 youth, and participants will be selected with the goal of diversity of faith traditions in mind. A one-time fee of $60.00 (for all 6 sessions) will be due after applications are accepted. (Need-based scholarships are available.)
