2020 MSAN Institute
April 23-24, 2020
Location: The Madison Concourse Hotel, Madison, WI
Website: http://msan.wceruw.org/conferences/institute.html
Due Date for Proposals: February 14, 2020

The MSAN Institute is a two-day, intensive professional development opportunity dedicated to growing our understanding of how school districts can increase educational equity in schools, with a focus on ending the effects of institutional racism on student success. This national conference is open to individuals and groups from MSAN member districts, as well as the general public.

MSAN Institute breakout sessions are 75 minutes long, and highlight successful practices for classroom teachers, building or district-level decision makers, student services staff (e.g., school counselors) and family engagement leaders; sessions may outline current initiatives as well as inform future research. Proposals are reviewed by members of the Institute's planning team using the following criteria:

1) clarity of proposal,
2) richness of learning objectives,
3) level of participant engagement; how learners interact with the content and with each other during the session through varied activities and collaborative learning; see https://learningforward.org/standards/learning-designs,
4) alignment with the MSAN mission and the focus of the Institute. See http://msan.wceruw.org/about/index.html

For examples of breakout sessions from last year's MSAN Institute, please see http://msan.wceruw.org/conferences/2019-institute/MSANinstitute2019.pdf

If you have any questions, please contact the MSAN office at msan@wcer.wisc.edu or (608) 263-1565.
