Welcome! Thank you for joining Student Senate's Seventh Annual Ace of Cakes competition! As part of our commitment to promoting community, diversity and inclusion at the University of Rhode Island, we, the Student Senate's Cultural Affairs Committee, believe that food and fun are the best ways to achieve that goal! This FREE competition will be held in the Memorial Union Ballroom, from 4 to 6PM, on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018! If you are interested in registering for a team, please continue to read the information below!
Ace of Cakes is a cake designing competition between 40 teams that are made up of members of the URI community; teams must be comprised of 2-6 members; and this event is open to faculty, staff and students. We will also be accepting donations for URI food bank Rhody Outpost at the event, so we encourage you to consider donating to this great cause.
Each team will have one hour to decorate their cake. The cake, frosting, candy/toppings, and materials needed to decorate your cake will be provided for free. You are more than welcome to bring extra materials as long as it is not extra cake. A team of judges will evaluate the cakes on the following categories; Best Overall, Best Use of Challenge Materials, and Most Creative. The judging period of the event, 45 minutes, will include performances by some of our campus's talented student organizations! Prizes will be given out to winning teams. At the end of the competition, your team will be able to bring home your finished product! And did we mention this is completely free?!
To register your team for Ace of Cakes, please fill out the form below. A few days prior to the competition, a representative from Student Senate's Cultural Affairs Committee will email you regarding the logistics.
Thank you and good luck! See you all there!
