CAC Scholarship Fund Guidelines
The CAC Scholarship Fund, created in 2017, awards scholarships to former Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) “Littles” who are attending their second, third or fourth year of their post-secondary education or post-secondary training program. The CAC Scholarship is awarded based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and an express interest on pursuing an education. CAC Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities and submitted essay and are up to $10,000. The amount of each scholarship to an individual is determined by the number of eligible applicants. This scholarship is awarded without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation. The CAC Scholarship Fund donors wish to remain anonymous.

Have graduated high school in 2014 or after? *
Have you completed one year in an accredited college, junior college, or post – secondary training program and are enrolled for next academic year? *

Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in equal payments in August and January. Students must continue to attend classes and maintain no lower than a 2.0 grade-point average (or equivalent).
Each scholarship awarded will be maximum of $10,000 annually to be paid in two equal installments of $5,000.
The application deadline is March 31st. The CAC Scholarship Fund uses that postmarked date to determine mailed entries.
Renewal Process:
This scholarship is renewable. Littles who have completed their second or third year of their post-secondary education are eligible to reapply for third/fourth year. Students must submit the entire CAC Scholarship Application and meet scholarship criteria to be considered for a renewal award. Renewals are not guaranteed.
