Skills Online Bangladesh Initiative is a year long skill development program implemented in Bangladesh by Better Future for Women in partnership with Commonwealth of Learning and Silicon Valley based e-learning platform, Udemy. All courses are provided at free of cost.
Skills Online Bangladesh Initiative works with local organizations, private training centers, educational institutions and employers to close skill gaps for in-demand jobs responding to employer and industry needs through directly supporting youth and adult of any gender to participate and complete skill and professional development courses offered by online learning platform such as Udemy.
BACKGROUND:
More than 2 million youth enter the workforce every year in Bangladesh. Many of them lack the relevant skill-set and training to compete on the job market at home and overseas. Bangladesh government’s national skill development policies strongly focus on enhancing skills of the youth to better prepare for the job market and to help them secure livelihoods. The project is aligned with Bangladesh’s National ICT Policy and skill development initiatives that promotes the use of new training tools such as ICT to build a skillful workforce
The project is generously funded by Commonwealth of Learning.
