Family Relations Director: The Family Relations Director's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as the liaison between The Hope Gala and our Four Diamonds guest speakers, both past & present. This Director is responsible for securing a family speaker for the annual Gala, keeping in touch with past families and providing updates to families on events we'd like to involve them in each year. This Director coordinates and secures hotel and other accommodations for any attending families, and serves as the point of contact for the family during the Gala. This person works closely with the Executive, Sponsorship, Event and Production Directors along with the rest of the Executive Committee throughout the year. Should have strong organization, communication and budget skills.
Mini-Events Director: The Mini-Events Directors’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the Executive Committee, Advisory Board and Volunteer Committee to create mini-events that will engage Penn State alumni and non-Penn State alumni throughout the NYC metropolitan area. These Directors will work together to create new mini-events and work on enhancing previous successful mini-events, including annual NYC baseball outings, boat cruise, viewing parties and other events. They will also work with the Communications team to promote the events, as well as the other members of the Executive Committee to ensure that each event reaches its goals. These Directors will also work with volunteers to assist in their own planning and completion of successful fundraising events.
Auction Coordinator: Assist with business outreach to help secure items for the silent auction at our annual gala and help organize the auction by creating description sheets, setting bid amounts and ensuring all information is organized for the big night!
Communications (Advertising) Coordinator: Will work primarily with the Communications (Advertising) Director and Art Director while pairing with the Social Media Coordinator. Primary responsibilities are rooted in Communications and advertising to help promote The Hope Gala as a brand while maintaining true to our mission and values. Support the Communications team in content creation and creative idea generation to better reach our audience through our social media platforms via written content, photography, video and design assets. Experience in developing social content, graphic design and/or Wordpress a plus.
Public Relations Coordinator: Assist in drafting recaps and descriptions of Hope Gala events and initiatives, support development of monthly newsletters, draft communications materials and reach out to media contacts to enhance The Hope Gala brand. Experience with MailChimp and/or Public Relations a plus.
Sponsorship Coordinator: Assist with business and alumni outreach to help secure sponsors for the annual gala, maintain relations with current sponsors, and assist in drafting sponsorship materials. Experience in Communications or Marketing a plus.
