Shaped Weaving: Intuitive Methods in Sculptural Tapestry

Are you interested in exploring how to transform a flat tapestry weaving into a sculptural form? Multidisciplinary artist Jes Reyes (@jesreyesart) will help you do just that. Her intuitive weaving process opens up the possibilities of lap-loom weaving. She will share her methods and how and why she picked up weaving. Participants will walk away with a one-of-a-kind creation and a Beka tapestry loom, tools, and accessories to continue weaving on their own. They will also receive a free copy of Jes’s artist book, “Until Off the Loom.” Participants are encouraged to bring materials to weave into their work (e.g., scrap yarn, fabric pieces, ribbon, rope). Shaped Weaving is a workshop for the beginner, the curious, and the experienced weaver.
