Serving is where our faith meets action. It is an opportunity to find a place to use your gifts, talents, and passions to serve the ongoing ministries of New Community. The primary way to serve our New Com church community is by joining one of our ministry teams.
The announcement team ushers in a sense of belonging and seeks to welcome everyone into our community. The announcements share important information with our congregation towards the beginning of service between worship sets and the sermon. The announcements include our mission statement, giving information, welcoming new people, invitations to upcoming events, sermon series information, blessing our kids and youth, and ends with prayer.
The time commitment is minimal. When someone is scheduled, they will receive an email with the option to confirm or deny if that Sunday works for them. The announcement email is usually sent out on Friday with the script and slides for whoever is scheduled, so they have time to read through the script before Sunday. The script is not something they have to read word-for-word, it is meant to be more of an outline. The basic information has to be given, but we also want people to bring their own personality into it as well.
The announcement team also partners with Mosaic Youth Ministry. Youth are welcome to join and give the announcements too.
