the unLandmarkables, a Database
The purpose of this project is to collect and map culturally significant US sites that their respective Landmark Preservation Boards or Commissions, and/or the Secretary of the Interior (the keeper of the National Register of Historic Places) deemed "unlandmarkable" because of a lack of architectural integrity in their evaluation of their landmark nomination. To that end, this project urges Landmark Preservation Boards and Commissions, and the National Register to look beyond integrity when they landmark sites.

Note: This project is a continuation of research performed by summer interns of King County, Washington's 4Culture Beyond Integrity in King County's summer interns, 2016 - 2019. The underrepresented categories are those developed by intern Jialing Liu, at the time a recent graduate of the Master of Urban Planning program at the University of Washington, with guidance by Beyond Integrity King County.
