In this workshop we will: assemble a team of eight music-obsessed teens, learn about professional music journalism, interview artists at Pitchfork Music Festival, and write our own magazine covering every aspect of the festival scene, from the music to the fashion and culture. (Previous interview subjects have included Digable Planets, Danny Brown, Speedy Ortiz, and Chance the Rapper collaborator Peter CottonTale.)
By the end of the year, your work will be published and read by artists and music heads around the city. You’ll even get your own free copy to show off your work!
This workshop will be led by Leor Galil, a professional music writer for the Chicago Reader, as well as 826CHI's own staff.
