About Us
The Steamboat Springs Education Fund (SSEF) is a non profit organization created to manage the proceeds of a half-cent City of Steamboat Springs sales tax that was originally approved by Steamboat voters in 1993 to fund “public k-12 educational purposes.”

Our mission is to enhance academic accomplishment in Routt County through student-facing investments in staff, facilities, infrastructure, technology and curriculum, made available through our public schools.

The Education Fund Board (EFB) administers the funds collected from the half-cent sales tax and provides accountability for all spending toward the fund’s mission. There are 11 voting members of EFB, nine at-large and two Commission representatives. Board members are appointed for two-year terms.
