"Yes Arts" Teaching Artist Application
Yes Arts Youth is an out-of-school time community arts program for children of Franklin Co. Drug Court participants and students in the Frankfort Independent School (FIS) District. Yes Arts Youth partners with local teaching artists and arts organizations to coordinate high-quality arts classes and camps, advertises these opportunities to Franklin Co. Drug Court and FIS families, and administers a scholarship fund to ensure accessibility of programs. Yes Arts Youth also provides professional development - training on substance abuse prevention, trauma-informed instruction and implicit bias - for participating artists. Yes Arts Youth exists for the youth in our community, to support their healthy development and provide alternatives to substance use and abuse.

Yes Arts Youth is led by a Prevention Consultant under the supervision of the Yes Arts Executive Director and in partnership with Yes Arts artists. Learn more about Yes Arts Youth and our approach at yesarts.org/yes-arts-youth.

By submitting a Yes Arts Youth Teaching Artist application, you are interested in offering an arts class/camp to youth in the Frankfort community. Upon acceptance to the Yes Arts Teaching Artist roster, you will be invited to submit proposals for spring/summer/fall offerings. If you are invited to teach, a background check is required by Frankfort Independent School District and fees will be covered by Yes Arts. Before leading a Yes Arts class or camp, you are required to attend an orientation and free professional development training on trauma-informed instruction, organized by Yes Arts staff. While Yes Arts will advertise your offering and administer scholarships only to Frankfort Independent School students and children of Drug Court participants, you are welcome to advertise your offering to the public at large.
