Sign language interpreters rarely, if ever, have the opportunity to meet with someone who is skilled at supporting people to self-reflect on interpreting. Interpreters need opportunities to unpack their process and to acknowledge what they bring to assignments. Register here for a one-hour session - your opportunity to reflect on your interpreting work with a skilled conversational partner. These conversational partners, whom we call mediators, use the Integrated Model of Interpreting (IMI) as their framework for exploring interpreting. These sessions are included in your conference registration, and there is no additional cost. You are encouraged to request a session by selecting all dates and times that will fit into your schedule, using this form. Once you click submit, a copy of your response will be emailed to you. A BMC team member will contact you with details as we get closer to the conference.
Update as of Thursday 7/27 at 4:30pm: At this time, most of the time slots for Process Mediation sessions have been filled. If you would like to request a session, please please do so and we will do our best to accommodate. If you are confirmed for a session, you will be contacted with all of the necessary information for your session (date, time, location etc.). If we are unable to accommodate your request, we will let you know, but please note that it may be after the time slot you requested.
