All our bikes are free to use but donations help us maintain and repair the bikes. 
If you would like to support is you can leave a donation in the cash box in the Stronsay cycles unit or scan the QR code on the front of the box to make an online donation.

Stronsay Cycles is located towards the end of Whitehall village in Woods yard, along with the heritage centre.
Electric bikes are in the welfare unit and manual bikes or in the bike locker next to the unit.

There are helmets and HiViz jackets available in the welfare unit along with tools to adjust the seats if required.
Terms & Conditions 
 
1. You agree to hire the bicycle and accessories specified above and accept the terms on this form.
2. If you are hiring on behalf of a group, you must complete the INDIVIDUAL CONTACT DETAILS FOR GROUPS HIRING
OUT EQUIPMENT form
3. You accept full responsibility for your safety and the safety of others. The bicycle is hired at your own risk. We are not
liable for any personal injury, death, or damage to property that results from the use of the equipment.
4. You are responsible for the security of the bicycle and must lock it to a fixed object whenever unattended and keep the
equipment safeguarded at all times.
5. Any loss, theft, damage, or accident should be notified to the Stronsay Development Trust immediately and, in the
case of theft or accident, to the nearest police station.
6. Anyone using the electric cycles MUST be aged 14 or over. A parent or guardian must complete this form for anyone
aged under 16 using any of the cycles. You accept that cycling has risks and confirm that you or any member of your
group is a competent cyclist.
7. You should not ride if you, or any member of your group, are in ill health, have a disability likely to affect your ability to
cycle, or your eyesight is not up to the standard required by a road driving test.
8. You must follow the highway code.
9. Do not ride under the influence of alcohol, strong medication, or other drugs.
10. It is strongly advised that you and each member of your group wear a helmet and use other appropriate safety
equipment and clothing.
11. Ride responsibly: do not attempt any manoeuvres beyond your skill level or the bike’s specific capabilities.
12. You must return the equipment by the agreed time and date.
13. You agree to compensate us against any liabilities, costs, expenses, damages, and losses arising out of or in connection
with the death or injury to any person or any damage to property resulting from your hire or use of the equipment.
14. For long-term rentals over one day, you agree that the bicycle must be kept undercover overnight, such as in a secure
garage or shed, and not left exposed to the elements. The bicycle must be stored in a safe, dry location when not in
use to ensure its proper care and to prevent damage. Failure to comply with this storage requirement may result in
penalties or forfeiture of the rental.
15. We advise that you or any member of your group do not ride without personal and third-party liability insurance.
16. By completing this form, you consent to the Stronsay Development Trust collecting and storing your personal data for
the purpose of processing your hire. Your personal data will be kept secure and used only for the management of the
rental process and related communications. We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your
consent, except as required by law or in the case of an emergency. You have the right to request access to your
personal data, or to request corrections, updates, or deletion of your information in accordance with applicable data
protection laws.
