Newsies from Brooklyn, Manhattan, Flushing, Richmond, Woodside, AND Bronx will all serve to carry a place for EVERY single Ensemble cast member and be a pivotal group experience for each student! Not only were Newsies involved in the Historical Strike of 1899 but Matchgirls, Breakerboys (Coal), and Mill Girls too! Students will learn about The Industrial Revolution and the working conditions of children during that time in history. Students will also learn about Yellow Journalism and the role it played in politics, war and how it shaped history. How thrilling to cast a show where we each can have an opportunity to be a part of an ensemble in some scenes and then come together in specific casting to finish the show in a big way!
