ACEPT Match Anonymous Student Feedback
ACEPT is considering adopting a centralized Training Site Directory and Match process for its member Training Sites, Academic Programs and Students. We are in the process of gather information in order to draft a formal referendum that will be voted upon by ACEPT members in April 2019. Results of the vote will be announced at the May meeting, along with the election of officers. We hope to get input not only from current members of ACEPT, but also from non-ACEPT members of the Chicagoland Training community. The full PracticumFit proposal and a summary of the proposal as well as a recent survey of the ACEPT listserv members can be found here:
. We are also currently looking into other training directory options, besides the one noted in the PracticumFit proposal.
Student responses will be anonymous, but your responses and your Academic Program will be published. We thank you for your participation in helping us to decide this important matter.
What is your Academic Institution?
Should ACEPT sponsor a centralized training site directory?
ACEPT Training Sites would list and update their own information and students from Academic Programs would allow their students access to the directory. Sites would be able to select which programs have access to their directory page and Academic Programs would be able to choose which sites their Students have access to. The Universal Site Info Form would no longer be used. Any startup costs for the directory would come from the ACEPT current savings fund and any annual fee for maintenance of the directory would come from the ACEPT operating budget. The PracticumFit proposal has a startup cost of $2500 with an annual maintenance fee of $1000, but this would require participating in a match with that organization. We are also looking into other options. One potential option is expanding the following APA sponsored directory to include ACEPT :
. Additionally Time2Track is developing a site directory to be used along with their hours tracking system.
What do you think of a centralized directory compared to the Universal Site Form? Would you support a minimal fee increase to ACEPT dues in order to offset the cost of the directory? Do you have any concerns for or against the establishment of a centralized directory? What suggestions do you have for developing a centralized directory if you are in favor of it?
Should ACEPT sponsor a centralized match process?
The match process would involve Students and Site registration with a centralized match portal. Students and Sites would register for the match and rank order their preferences through an on-line portal, similar to the APPIC process. Registration would occur annually with an associated fee. The fee could be assessed individually to each Student registrant (an average of $50 per student), or assessed to both Sites ($90 per Site) and Students ($35 per student). The match process could also accompany a centralized site directory, also sponsored by PracticumFit, with a startup cost of $2500 with an annual maintenance fee of $1000 (as mentioned above).
What do you think of a match compared to the current notifications process? What do you think of the annual fee structure for the match? Do you have any concerns for or against the establishment of a centralized match process? What suggestions do you have for developing a centralized match process if you are in favor of it?
