Loma Linda University has long been recognized for its commitment to provide high-quality medical care to the most disenfranchised members of our community. Street Medicine at Loma Linda University is a student run medical outreach program that gives students the opportunity to participate in our institutional culture of service while learning how to operate in environments with limited resources.
Street Medicine at LLU is founded on the ethical principle that all should be treated equally, regardless of the ability to pay. We acknowledge that by nature, our healthcare system leaves some people behind. That’s why our vision is to provide excellent transitional primary care, centered on our patients and their world, and given away freely.
Licensed Care Providers (LCP’s) — licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants — are indispensable members of our care team, providing student volunteers with medical supervision and support as they care for patients. Without you, we could not do what we love to do!
This provider-specific orientation package will provide you with the necessary information to make your experience as a Street Medicine Licensed Care Provider smooth and efficient. Thank you for your time and support in serving the community and training compassionate doctors for the future!
