Public Comment Sign-Up: August 25 City Council Meeting
Persons wishing to speak during the August 25 City Council meeting must sign up in advance using this online form or by calling the Clerk’s office at 828-259-5900, no later than Noon on August 24, to add their names to the list of speakers.

In order to be added to the list of speakers, an individual must provide all information requested below.

The production team will use the “phone number the caller will use to listen to the meeting live and join the speaker queue” to manage the speaker queue.

The alternative form of contact will be used to distribute instructions before the meeting and provide technical assistance during the meeting if needed.  

Each speaker is allotted 3 minutes to speak for up to one hour for each agenda item.  The Mayor, or presiding officer may, in their discretion, increase or decrease this time allocation depending on the number of speakers signed up.  A speaker may speak only if they have signed up to speak in accordance with these procedures.  

The Clerk will deliver the list of those persons who signed up to speak to the Mayor or presiding officer before the beginning of the meeting.  The speakers will be called upon in the order the requests were received by the Clerk.

In order for the speakers to have an idea of where they fall in the caller queue and when they might expect a call, the speaker list (name only) will be posted to the City of Asheville Public Engagement Hub at https://publicinput.com/S7021 at 12:00 Noon the day of the meeting.

Please note that we will be identifying you based on your outbound caller ID. Make sure the number you enter matches the outbound caller ID on the phone you'll be using to speak in the council meeting. Also, please be sure that caller ID is not blocked on that line when you call.

You will be connecting to the meeting using the phone number you've entered above. If there is any problem bringing you into the meeting to speak, how can we reach you? This could be an email address you'll be checking, a second phone number we could call or text, etc. If you choose not to provide this information, we will not be able to assist if you miss your spot in the caller sequence.
