2018 Staff Commencement Volunteer Sign-up Form
Positions are available for all three days; please volunteer for as many ceremonies as you like.

Volunteer Positions:

Outside Information Booth - Answer questions and provide directions for guests and graduates.

Volunteer Check-in- Assist with checking in volunteers for the ceremony. Manage radio assignments and help with late graduate arrivals if needed while in the Stewart Room.

Graduate Check-in- Assist with checking in graduates for their ceremonies. Hand out pre-printed name cards and give line-up instructions to the graduates.

Faculty Hooder Check-in (Grad Hooding Only)- Assist with checking in all faculty hooders for the Grad Hooding ceremony. Assist them as needed to the Berry Terrace and help with any cost checks.

Faculty Robing Room (Grad Hooding Only)- Assist faculty hooders with regalia and any instructions they need to prepare for the ceremony. Lead the hooders out to the student line-up area to get lined-up with the graduates that they are hooding.

Bachelor Student Lineup - Organize line up and assist bachelor candidates with regalia. Lead the bachelor's candidates into the Bren Events Center arena.

Master Student Lineup -Organize line up and assist masters candidates with regalia. Lead the masters candidates into the Bren Events Center arena.

Masters of Fine Arts and Doctoral Candidates Student Lineup (Grad Hooding Only) -Organize line up, assist candidates with regalia, and help pair them up with their hooders. Lead the candidates into the Bren Events Center arena.

Open- Available anywhere needed. Volunteers may be needed to assist with seating the graduates inside the arena, assisting in the platform party room, or assisting graduates guests if needed.

Volunteers will be asked to attend a very short meeting on June 14th to prepare for the weekend.

Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate clothing with comfortable shoes and arrive about an hour before the ceremony start time. Some volunteer positions may require you to be report about an hour and a half before start time.Most volunteers will have a 2-3 hour assignment. Refreshments will be provided.

All volunteers will be emailed closer to commencement weekend to verify availability, be given details for the volunteer meeting, and any other details specific to their volunteer position(s).
