Sir Arthur Lewis Reception
Princeton University has renamed Robertson Hall's auditorium for Nobel laureate Sir Arthur Lewis (1915-1991). The recommendation was made by the Council of the Princeton University Community Committee on Naming, which was established to advise the trustees on the naming of “buildings or other spaces not already named for historical figures or donors to recognize individuals who would bring a more diverse presence to the campus.”

Lewis was knighted in 1963. In 1979, he won the Nobel Prize in Economics. Throughout the event, a video capturing his life and scholarship will play continuously in the auditorium.
