Yelloweye Rockfish or Not?
Yelloweye rockfish are a prohibited species in the Oregon recreational fisheries.  Therefore, it is important to know what a yelloweye rockfish is, and isn't, so you know what you can keep and what you can't keep.  Also, it  helps when telling the dockside samplers what species you released.  Believe it or not, data on released fish is important when doing stock assessments, especially for a species like yelloweye rockfish for which retention is not allowed.
