NEACAC Mentorship Program Application 2019
Greetings from NEACAC! Thank you for your interest in participating in NEACAC's new mentorship program! Please use this form to submit your application. The form is designed so that you can edit your responses after you submit the form, should you need to do so. If you have any questions about the application or the mentorship program as a whole, please reach out to Randy Jose, Chair of the Mentorship Program, at
. Thank you!!
Mentor: As a mentor through NEACAC's mentorship program, you will be paired with at least one but no more than five mentees. You will work with them throughout the mentorship program to guide them through their time in the profession. You will be expected to connect with your mentee(s) periodically throughout the year as well as connect with the other mentors throughout the year. You will be expected to attend one training/kick-off meeting per year, either in-person, via phone, or via other means. While no official minimum years of experience in the profession is required, preference may be given to those who have at least a few years of experience.
Mentee: As a mentor, you will be paired with an experienced admission or school counseling professional who will serve as a resource at various points throughout the year. Although your mentor will check-in with you periodically, this program will be even more of a success if you show proactive participation to seek your mentor.
Are you interested in being a mentor or a mentee? If you are interested in both, feel welcome to check both!
Preferred First Name
How many years have you been in the admission or college counseling profession?
Please let us know the types of institutions at which you have worked, including your current institution. Please check all that apply.
college or university
religious or parochial institution
Please list the specific places that you have worked. You do not need to list them in any particular order or need to list dates you worked. Feel welcome to factor in any positions in education that you have worked even if not in admission or in college counseling (i.e. dorm parent, career counselor, teacher).
Why do you want to be a mentor/mentee?
To aid in the pairing process, please indicate any preferences you have. For instance, maybe you'd like to be paired with someone who is from the same state, is a person of color, or is from the same side of the desk. Feel most welcome to indicate that you do not have any preferences.
The following questions are for mentor applicants only:
What qualities do you possess that would make you a good mentor?
How much time per month would you be able to commit to this program? (We realize that the amount of time will vary throughout the year, which is why you have the option to provide a short answer to this question instead of checking boxes.)
During which parts of the year would you be willing to serve as a mentor? Check all that apply.
How many mentees would you be able to mentor at a time? Check all that apply.
