Apply to volunteer at the FOSS 4G North America Conference. Getting involved with the FOSS4G North America conference
will give you a unique opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in one of the most
welcoming communities in tech. You will be playing an integral part in making
the event happen and have excellent opportunities for networking with a wide
range of open-source enthusiasts while supporting the FOSS4G community.
You will not only help make this experience more pleasant
for everyone but will have the opportunity to work closely with speakers, have
a chance to meet like-minded individuals well noted in the open geospatial
world, all while having time (when not covering assignments) of the whole
duration of the event to attend talks and workshops and live this unique
experience.
If you're working toward or renewing your GISP, volunteering
at FOSS4G NA is also a great opportunity to earn points toward that
certification! Each volunteer will receive a certificate of recognition to document their involvement for professional certification requirements.
- Up to 30 volunteers will be accepted and must dedicate at least 10 hours to assist with the event in order to qualify for free admission. Typical volunteer duties include room moderation, audio/video assistance, registration desk, and general floating duties. The exact tasks volunteers will be assigned and details regarding those duties will be distributed to accepted volunteers in the days leading up to the conference.
