In celebration of Halloween and the Beaux-Arts ball tradition, the RAIC is holding an Architectural Hat Competition as part of the tradeshow at the 2019 Festival of Architecture.

Here’s how it works:

- Register for the competition for a chance to win one of three prizes.
- Visit the tradeshow and collect materials from exhibitor booths.  
- Assemble your unique creation at the Architectural Hat Competition booth on the tradeshow floor between October 27 and 28. Materials such as scissors, utility knives, tape, and glue will be provided.  

Lastly, wear your attention-getting headpieces at the President’s Dinner and Awards Gala on October 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The goal is to entertain, amuse, and impress! A three-member jury will assess the hats based on their visual impact, originality, and craftmanship.

A third judge will be announced closer to the competition date.

Prizes:
1st place: $500 travel voucher from Uniglobe
2nd place: Gift certificate entitles for nine to a comprehensive tour and tasting at Shawn & Ed Brewing Co.
3rd place: A gift certificate for two beer flights from Blood Brothers Brewing in Toronto
