Identifying disinformation on social media can sometimes be difficult. Join us to learn how to check facts and get tools to prevent the spread of misleading information. Our speakers will also provide strategies to convey effective fact-based messages on social media and in our letters to the editor.

Jennifer Slavik Lohman, co-founder of the St. Louis Area Voter Protection Coalition, In Every Generation Inc., and Indivisible St. Louis

Lohman is a member of the national Election Protection Anti-Disinformation Working Group, the Transformative Justice Coalition’s Voting Rights Alliance, and the League of Women Voters. She helped organize Missouri’s largest-ever Election Protection field programs in 2018 and 2020 and has assisted in developing new voter registration, education, and outreach efforts for several organizations. Lohman, a graduate of Notre Dame Law School, worked as a litigator and federal judicial clerk before turning to nonprofit and advocacy activities.

Anat Shenker-Osorio, principal and founder of ASO Communications and host of the Words to Win By podcast

Shenker-Osorio has led research for new messaging on issues including immigrant rights, clean energy, and criminal justice. Her work has resulted in progressive electoral and policy victories across the globe. Shenker-Osorio is the author of Don't Buy It: The Trouble with Talking Nonsense About the Economy. Her writing and research is profiled in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Boston Globe, Salon, The Guardian, Grist and other publications.
