Abstract Submission for the 2019 Geographic Science Symposium
The Committee on Geographical Sciences at the University of Chicago, Center for Spatial Data Science, and Tobler Society of Students invite the UChicago Community to submit abstracts for talks and posters at our first Geographic Science Symposium, to be held on May 29-31, 2019. The first Geographic Science Symposium will feature paper sessions and lightning talks highlighting UChicago-based research, a poster reception, open house, international humanitarian mapathon, and opensource spatial coding workshop.

A geospatial perspective adds new dimension to the exploration of issues that impact neighborhoods, cities, regions, and global communities. We seek abstracts from students, staff, and faculty on topics that reflect the geospatial perspective on fundamental issues in the urban, environmental, and social sciences including work focused on interactions between physical/natural environments, built environments, and people. Geocomputational advances, spatial econometric contributions, and other interdisciplinary intersections in health, political science, computer science, and economics are highly encouraged.

Preference for full-length oral presentations will be given to graduating seniors and graduate students. Poster printing services are offered as a courtesy of the Symposium Committee.
