Join SCRWP in volunteering & fundraising for Books Through Bars! BTB sends free books to people incarcerated in PA and nearby states. Books have been shown to make a huge difference in the life of inmates, especially when they try to readjust to society after prison.
 
First, participants will be encouraged to fundraise individually. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues for a donation to this great cause. BTB is volunteer-run, so donations go directly to providing services to inmates (mostly postage for book packages). At the session, volunteers read letters from inmates, match book requests from a donated-books library, and package them up! The session will last for 2 hours. Afterwards, volunteers are invited to lunch with SCRWP. Sponsored by GAPSA.
