Hunar Symposia - Volunteering Expression of Interest

Who are we: Hunar Symposia Hunar means art in Dari or Persian. Art is at the heart of what we do.  
We are a collective of artists and academics who focus on artistic responses to crisis, conflict and colonisation. We are holding our inaugural multi-site exhibitions in November, which includes multi-media contributions from 35 artists from around the world.


Who is this for: If you’re interested in understanding how exhibition come together, how they are curated, the considerations that go into curatorship, and would love to be part of an incredible team, this is the one for you!

Gallery Invigilator:  As invigilator, you will be helping us keep the exhibition open to public. The Exhibitions are free of charge so this task does not include and cash handling responsibilities. You can bring a book or chose to engage with visitors. The priority will be that visitors do not touch or remove works and that they receive a printed catalogue of works should they chose

Exhibition Production: This is a hands-on role helping to put up three curated exhibitions in only a few days. You will be a key support person for the Hunar team who will be there to instruct you on how and where to put up various art works. We’re a pretty open team so always welcome creative input too!

Conference Assistant: This is a hands-on role helping to create the three day series of  talks and presentations taking place in-person and online in November 2022. Customer service, registration, AV support and other ad hoc roles available.
