Wednesday, April 10, 2019
1-2 pm
B-208 Longworth House Office Building

Across the Atlantic, the British Labour Party – under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn – is cohering around a program that could reshape politics and economics in the UK. From Labour’s 2017 manifesto For the Many, Not the Few to its Alternative Models of Ownership report, Labour’s leadership is assembling the tools and strategies to pursue a bold transformation of the British economy organized around public ownership, democratic control, decentralization of power, and popular participation in economic decision-making. Mathew Lawrence and James Meadway, both fellows with the Democracy Collaborative and leading policy experts working closely with the Corbyn team, will be discussing elements of Labour’s economic platform and potential applications in the United States.
