The MCDP’s Internship Program seeks to develop a new set of well-trained and passionate campaign staffers equipped for the challenges of electing Democrats in Maricopa County. The program will cultivate interns in a number of campaign capacities, including field, development, and operations through challenging work and training programs with our well-regarded staff. Development work will teach interns how to build effective events and programs, efficiently fundraise, and sharpen their messaging skills. Training in Field work will consist of volunteer recruitment and upkeep along with voter outreach by way of canvassing or phone banking to give interns a well-rounded experience with the predominant field organization methods used by campaigns. Coming from a growing need for local campaign staff, our program is designed to fit interns into campaigns in preparation for 2020.
We have expectations of 10-20 hours per week. There will be flexibility however, we do have events during the weekend and after 5pm. Interns will Additional items such as specific duties, hours, expectations will be discussed during the interview.
