Joining the band at MCMS is an exciting time.  Students will have an opportunity to try out all of the instruments available and select an instrument that he/she will be successful learning to play.  We have many great activities and trips planned that provide a positive place for you to be at the middle school.  Please fill out this form, so that you can be registered for our outstanding band program and begin your musical endeavor! Band is a yearlong commitment and students will have different connections during the course of the year.  There are a select few instruments that are provided by the school (tuba, French horns, and baritones), however most other instruments will need to be rented and/or purchased by each individual student.  More information will be sent home at the beginning of the school year on how this can be reasonably accomplished. Students will be registered for band by returning this commitment form.  Since Band meets during the day there is little to NO conflict for students to participate in other sports and activities.  We have a band student(s) represented in ALL activities at the middle and high school.                                                                                                                            Our students learn to read music, participate in GMEA activities such as All-State Band and GMEA Band Festival, and perform in Madison and across the state. If your student is interested in joining band, you can sign them up using this form! There is no audition, and all ability levels are welcome!
