Itinerary:

OCT 12th, 2023 - CARTAGENA CITY TOUR

Our City Tour will start with the transfer from our hotel to the La Popa Convent. From the convent, which is located on a 350m high hill (highest point of Cartagena) you will have a great view over the whole city. From there we will proceed to the biggest fort which the Spaniards ever built in South America – the San Felipe de Barajas Fortress. We will visit the whole fort including some of its tunnels, as well as the statue of Don Blas de Lezo. After this, we will go back to the city center and visit the most beautiful streets, churches and squares in the historic city center. We will pass the official entrance of the walled city: the clock tower (Torre del Reloj). Behind it, we will find the monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena de Indias (1533). The guide will tell us about the history of Cartagena’s foundation and will also share interesting stories full of legends and pirates

OCT 13th, 2023 - TOBACCO TOUR

The Tobacco tour is a unique experience designed for people that are passionate about Tobacco. We will have two very special guests for this tour. One of them is Guillermo. He is a Montes de Maria Farmer, from Ovejas in Sucre State, which is the most famous region in Colombia for having the highest Tobacco quality. He will teach us all we need to know about the process of making Tobaccos, from harvesting to rolling. The other guest, Victor, is a Cauca state indigenous descendant. He will teach us how the Indigenous have used tobacco for thousands of years, and also which are the medical and magical qualities of tobacco.

OCT 13th, 2023 - COCKTAIL TOUR

In this experience, we will focus on the preparation of tropical signature cocktails by using Colombian fruits, so you can discover unique flavors. Some of the fruits we use are lulo, tree tomato, and green mango.

The main spirits we use are Colombian Rum and Aguardiente as well es local specialties like Quinado. Also Gin and Vodka are used.

Each participant will prepare their cocktails. We also will have some Cartagena´s typical snacks to share while enjoying the drinks. We will prepare a total of 3-4 cocktails for about 1.5 hours.

OCT 14th, 2023 - DRUM WORKSHOP

La Boquilla is an afro-descendant fisherman village that for more than 200 years until today still continues in a heroic struggle of cultural resistance to preserve their ancestral traditions, where drums play a leading role.

We will take you on an exciting tour to observe and play these Afro-Colombian wild drums in their habitat! For that reason: play it even if you don’t play, dance even if you don’t dance, sing even if you don’t sing…together we can! That is what a local proverb says…

The Drum Workshop, of about one hour duration, is a unique opportunity to connect yourself with the typical rhythms of Afro-Colombian folk music such as Cumbia, Mapalé and Champeta, through immersion by playing traditional drums.

The team of the Drum School invites you to live an extraordinary experience; first a little introduction to the community project, then a demonstration and interaction: execution of Drums.

Batambora is a project led by a group of pushing young people from the Afro-descendant community of La Boquilla, who are committed to human and economic development that is aimed for rescuing and preserving the cultural traditions of the African heritage.

We like to support young people who make a difference, and we are warmly inviting you to experience it!

Enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure!

OCT 15TH, 2023 - ROSARIO ISLANDS BOAT TRIP

At 8 am in the morning, together with our personal guide, we will leave the official port of Cartagena (Muelle de la bodeguita) by speed boat to start our day trip to the Islas del Rosario.

The archipelago Nuestra Señora del Rosario, known as the Rosario Islands, consists of 28 small islands, which are located about 40 km southwest of Cartagena de Indias in the Caribbean Sea. The journey there takes about one hour.

We will see Isla Grande, which is the national park’s largest island, full of elegant resorts embedded between many very beautiful beaches. The excellent facilities are ideal to have meals, PARTY, relax and/or go for a swim – a selected location with gorgeous sandy beaches and Caribbean turquoise water. Sun beds are awaiting you on the beach and if you prefer a little bit more action, you can take one of the kayaks (for a fee), or go snorkeling to explore the surroundings.

This tour includes lunch in a very beautiful beach club where we can relax, eat and smoke.
This is a FULL DAY tour.
