2026 Nebraska State Literacy Association Scholarship Application
Please note:
1. You must be a junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled full time in a teacher education program at a Nebraska post-secondary institution in a field that supports literacy instruction.
2. You must be a resident of the state of Nebraska.
3. Two $1000 scholarships are available.
4. For this application, you will be asked to submit three or more well-written paragraphs. Tell something about yourself, your goals, your need for assistance, and your future plans. Be sure this includes how you plan to use your college education towards the promotion of reading and literacy. You will also be asked to make a statement about the greatest challenge ahead for literacy educators and how you are preparing (or, if already a certified teacher, how are you working) to meet this challenge.
5. Two references (one college teacher and a community member) must be provided. Be prepared to list their name, title, phone number, mailing address, and email. Be sure to request permission to use them as a reference and provide adequate time to meet the deadline. Once your application is received, your references will receive a link to complete an online reference form similar to this one. If both references are not received by the deadline, your application will be disqualified.

Applications will be time-stamped as they are received online. The application will close on April 15th at 11:59 pm. All recommendations must be completed by April 22nd at 11:59 pm.
