Downtown AVL Wreath Making
Hello, wonderful volunteers! The North Carolina Arboretum has partnered with the City of Asheville and the Asheville Downtown Association to redesign the wreaths that are hung on the light posts downtown during the holidays. The wreaths are 4 feet in diameter and there are 127 of them! Many hands make light work so join us for some wreath making fun!

Please sign up for one of the following shifts by filling out the form below!
Saturday, October 21 from 10 AM-12 PM and 12-2 PM
Tuesday, October 24 from 4-6 PM and 6-8 PM
Friday, October 27 from 10 AM-12 PM and 1-3 PM
Friday, November 3 from 10 AM-12 PM and 12-2 PM
Saturday, November 4 from 10 AM-12 PM and 12-2 PM
As a bonus, all volunteers that report to a wreath making shift will be given a pass for you and one guest to attend Arboretum Night at Winter Lights on November 15th!

What to know for your shift: volunteers should dress comfortably but closed toe shoes are required. There is some light lifting. All tools are provided. The magic happens at 137 Glenn Bridge Rd in Arden. Some of the GPS units will send you to the back of the warehouse district that does not have access to the facility. Here are directions: From Long Shoals Rd (146) you will take a right on Hendersonville Rd (25). Travel about 1.5 miles to Glenn Bridge Rd on your right. Go straight at the stop sign (you'll see Stallings Auto Collision on your left) and then turn left into the Glen Arden Business Park. There will be signs directing you from that point.

Also, if you would like to join The NC Arboretum as a volunteer during Winter Lights, please sign up at Volunteers that report to three Winter Lights shifts will be given two free tickets to Winter Lights. Find out more at

Thank you for your support!
