The King Arthur renaissance-themed tournament (KAT) is our biggest festival event of the year!

For June 16, 2024 only. Located at the Balboa Park Rube Powell Archery Range. Going north on Park Blvd. Turn left onto Presidents Way. Follow the directional signs from the edge of Balboa Park to the Archery Range at the Alcazar Parking Lot.

Wear your finest traditional renaissance ready archery gear to receive a free opportunity to win a sponsored prize! Food, snacks and drinks will be available on the range.

This is a shotgun start shoot, with all archers walking to their reserved target number prior to releasing arrows after 9 am. The range briefing will start in the practice area at around 8:40 am.

About the KAT. There will be 40 targets, with two arrows per target scoring, 11-10-8 scoring.

Add up each arrow’s score to give a total score out of a maximum 880.

When you reach the shooting range, the first thing you need to do is to head over to the visitor's table. Make sure to bring a copy of your signed waiver, or alternatively, you can sign a paper waiver for each participant at the table. Once you have filled out the waiver, review the range safety rules, reserve your starting target number, and collect a blank scorecard.
