“Sandboxing” is a practice in which you use an isolated environment, or a “sandbox,” for testing. Our sandbox sessions are designed for students to practice functional skills and community engagement with support, but without direct parent presence. We aim to provide "next steps" in a child's development towards independence. All meetups are facilitated by a speech-language pathologist (Julia Gerhard, DMA, CCC-SLP_ and/or occupational therapist (Tyler Lacertosa, OTD). Prior to engaging in these sessions, Julie or Tyler will hold an individual one-time conference call session with each child's parent/caregiver to create goals.
