Parking at the trailhead is limited, but there is ample parking on adjoining neighborhood streets. Please be respectful of driveways and signage.

The project site will be the meeting location; we will collect sagebrush seed in the small network of trails that makes up the Oregon Trail Reserve City Park.

What you need to know:
Thanks for being flexible with our project site selection! 

Plan to collect sagebrush seed by hand by stripping plant material from seed stalks and placing it into a five-gallon bucket (provided). This isn't a very laborious process, and we general are able to work on terrain that accommodates most ability types. However, these projects involve some hiking off trail on lumpy ground, and bending over while collecting seed. Training is provided. 

The weather can vary from cool and sunny to cold, windy or wet/snowy in early winter. We will provide buckets, old leather work gloves, and seed bags. 

This seed will be used to rebuild our seed reserves so that we are well prepared to rehabilitate future fires as they occur.
 
What you should bring:
Please remember to dress for the weather. You will need to bring layered clothing, boots or sturdy shoes, a hat, and gloves. Bring along some thick fleece or knit gloves to wear under the leather gloves, or bring some old ski gloves.

Bring a carabiner, short cord, or shoulder strap to attach the bucket to your belt or sling over your shoulder.
