The UBC Summer Voice Workshop is an audition based program, that prides itself on not requiring an application fee. As a result of a record number of applications, we will be screening and selecting singers for the UBC Summer Voice Workshop based on their videos and completed application. The camp is open to students aged 13-35 years old.

Program Details
For the first time this year, we are introducing a new two-track program available for all students. After the success of our Prep Program in the past, we want to make its benefits available to all applicants. Starting this year, we offer two tracks of the program based on performing experience. Our aim is to make sure that the UBC Summer Vocal Workshop is open and available to singers of all levels and abilities, and this new two-track system will be a great way to showcase all students and help improve their skill no matter where they are in their artistic development. Placement in each track level is determined by the Director of the Summer Vocal Workshop and will be based on your audition video.

Track 1

Students enrolled in Track 1 will receive all of the components included in tuition, and will be assigned a role in a scene in English from musical theatre or operatic repertoire. They will learn the basics of diction and IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), develop stage presence skills, and meet other singers their experience level so that they can grow their artistry and confidence and make new friends.

Track 2

Students enrolled in Track 2 will receive all of the components included in tuition, and will be assigned a role in a scene in English or a foreign language from musical theatre or operatic repertoire. They will learn advanced diction and IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), develop stage presence skills, and meet other singers their experience level so that they can grow their artistry and confidence and make new friends.

All Singers

All students accepted into the UBC Summer Vocal Workshop will perform on the Final Concert, take part in our mock auditions, and will be provided with mentorship and advising for their future in music.
