The Matteson Area Public Library District's FanFest is a family friendly event meant for all ages. Below are our behavior guidelines and dress code for the contest. If you have any further questions, please contact the MAPLD FanFest Committee at mapldfanfest@mapld.org or call us at 708-748-4431.

Behavior Guidelines:

All skits, performances, and cosplay presentations must be rated PG-13 or lower.
No profanity, sexually explicit language, or offensive gestures are permitted on stage or as part of any costume.
Contestants may not use stage time to make political, religious, or insulting statements.
Respect fellow contestants, staff, judges, and audience members at all times.
Maintain good sportsmanship
There will be no access to electrical outlets on stage.
Contestants may not throw anything into the audience.
Special effects such as fireworks, flash paper, or smoke machines will not be allowed.
Performances may not exceed 2 minutes in duration.

Dress Code:

This is a runway-style contest with no pre-judging. Costumes may be handmade or store-bought.
Costumes should be of a PG-13 or less rating. Nudity, simulated nudity are prohibited.
Real weapons are not allowed.
Prop firearms must have orange tips and noticeably fake.
Weapons such as axes, swords, daggers, etc. should not have a sharp edge and should be made of foam, plastic, or any non metal material.
Shoes must be worn at all times. Socks, bare feet, or foot coverings without soles are not acceptable.
Costumes or clothing may not display: Profane language or slurs, Hate symbols, Obscene or explicit content or imagery
