Indian BIPV Report 2022: Status and Roadmap

Based on the expertise of the CSIR-NIIST and SUPSI, the 2022 Report aims to provide an overview of the Indian solar market by retracing historical milestones and the country’s evolutionary process, including policies, regulations, technological improvements and case studies. The report provides insights to the stakeholders of the solar value chain by focusing on the integration of photovoltaic systems into the built environment. An overview of common building technology systems and their solar potential is presented and discussed to support investors, manufacturers, architects, and the construction value chain stakeholders in making the timeliest decisions. Further, to construct future milestones in the Indian BIPV sector, an overview of current scenario and deliberations on expected stakeholder efforts are also discussed for generating a critical roadmap. The crucial questions of business model, barriers and boundary conditions are illustrated with actual data from some case studies realized in the recent years in India.
Visibility of report & event
BIPV brings challenges but also opportunities to the world of construction and PV. The previous European editions (2017  and 2021 ), written and promoted by SUPSI, Becquerel Institute and SEAC, were widely recognized as international references in the PV and BIPV sectors. In addition, the reports proved to be great tool to introduce BIPV to non-experts, either architects, professionals from the construction sector or simply the public.
The “Indian BIPV Report 2022: Status and Roadmap” is a unique opportunity to associate your brand and your expertise with the aesthetics and technology, multifunctionality and competitiveness of BIPV products and systems. Reinforce the image of your brand to gain visibility within the construction and building sector and touch construction professionals, building experts and leading architects. The Report 2022 will be promoted in international conferences and the digital version of the Report will be published and promoted on the platform www.solarchitecture.ch (The main communication means of the Swiss BIPV Competence Centre), proposed Indian BIPV repository, www.niist.res.in, and CSIR Newsletters.
Further, “Indian BIPV Report 2022: Status and Roadmap” will be officially released on 11th August 2022 as part of the i-Connect events to be held under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: India’s 75th Independence Day Celebrations (https://amritmahotsav.nic.in/). The release event will be conducted as a one-day conference programme, exclusive to BIPV technology and opportunities in Indian context. The release event will attract key stakeholders of building sector including Central and State Governments, Developers, Manufacturers, Bilateral & Multilateral agencies, NGOs, BI (PV) industries, Architects, Consultants etc., involved in advancing Net Zero.
