The Practice of Access Workshops are a series of workshops focused on attending to and integrating access elements into creative projects for the purpose of engagement of D/deaf, Blind, Low Vision, disabled and neurodivergent communities. Access elements to be “practiced” include: American Sign Language integration, wheelchair accessible art viewing parameters, and shaping environments in support of immunocompromisation and chemical sensitivities. Rooted in Disability Justice,  the “practicing” affirms accessibility as an essential part of our culture. The Practice of Access is an invitation to move beyond the logistics; offering tangible tools for engaging these communities thoughtfully, and with care.

2 Practice of Access Workshops will take place at Fresh Eye Gallery, on Saturdays, August 23 and 30, from 2-5pm.  Masking will be required of participants. Fresh Eye is wheelchair accessible. Should you need other accommodations, please note this in the last question.

There are a limited number of spaces available to the public for participation. We are asking interested participants to commit to attending both of the workshops and to answering the questions below. We will confirm participation based on the responses and interest.
